Behavioural and session data through Microsoft Clarity, including mouse movements, clicks, scrolling behaviour, page interactions, device type, browser type, operating system, approximate location (city/country level), and IP address. Information collected via Meta:
If you submit your details through a Meta Lead Ad form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc. collects and shares that information with us in accordance with Meta's own data policy (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/). We receive only the form fields you submit.

The Leap Project is an unregistered business operating from Bangalore, India. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we act as the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect strictly for recruitment and hiring purposes, specifically to:

Contact you about the role you applied for, including via phone call, email, and WhatsApp.

We do not use your data for marketing unrelated services, do not sell your data to third parties, and do not share it with anyone except the limited service providers listed in Section 5.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the DPDP Act, we process your personal data based on:

Legitimate use for employment purposes, as permitted under Section 7 of the DPDP Act for processing applicant data in the context of recruitment.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We share your data only with the following categories of recipients, and only to the extent necessary:

Meta Platforms, Inc. — when you submit a Lead Ad form on Facebook or Instagram, your responses pass through Meta's systems before reaching us.

Microsoft Corporation (Clarity) — for behavioural analytics on our landing page.

WhatsApp (owned by Meta) — when we contact you via WhatsApp for follow-up communication.

Email and communication service providers — such as our email host, used to send and receive messages.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for their own marketing purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for a maximum of 90 days from the date of submission. After this period, your data is deleted from our active records.
Hiring needs change quickly, and applicant circumstances change just as quickly, so we have no reason to hold your data longer than necessary. If we hire you, your data will transition into our employment records under a separate retention policy that we will share with you at that point.

7. Your Rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to access — request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.

Right to erasure — request that we delete your data before our standard 30-day retention period ends.

Right to grievance redressal — raise concerns about how we handle your data.

Right to withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time, after which we will stop processing your data and delete it.

Right to nominate — nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data we hold, including limiting access to authorised personnel, using reputable third-party tools (Meta, Microsoft, WhatsApp) that maintain their own security standards, and deleting data within the retention period stated above.
No system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. By submitting your data, you acknowledge this inherent risk.
11. Children's Data
Our hiring is restricted to adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it immediately.
12. International Users
This policy is currently designed for applicants in India. As we expand our hiring to other regions (such as the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada), we will update this policy to reflect the additional rights and obligations under applicable laws such as the GDPR (UK/EU) and CCPA (California).
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify applicants whose data is currently held by us.
